From sunrise skies to starlit cinema — here’s how to spend a slow, unforgettable day just steps from Dagris Villa.

Can you fall in love with a place you already know? We think so — because Kamari keeps surprising us. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifth, this is how we’d spend the perfect day in our neighborhood.

🌅 Morning in Kamari: Sunrise, Sip, Stroll

Start early — sunrise over Kamari’s black-sand beach is pure magic. You don’t need to go far: just walk down from Dagris Villa to the beach right below. It’s peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to watch the sky turn gold.

Afterward, take a slow stroll toward the center of Kamari — either along the beach or from the main road. Shops and cafés begin to open, and the village starts to hum with quiet morning energy. Stop at Finch for brunch. It’s the kind of café locals crowd on Sundays — for good reason. Try the avocado toast (our favorite), paired with a smooth coffee and a sunny seat if you’re lucky. By evening, Finch becomes a sleek cocktail bar — but we’ll save that for later.

Still hungry? Swing by Erotokritos, our favorite neighborhood bakery. Their spanakopita, tyropita, and kotopita (chicken pie) are fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. Great for takeaway if you’re headed back to the beach.

🕶️ Midday in Kamari: Where to Swim, Snack & Chill

By midday, it’s time for a proper swim. We recommend the area near the mountain, called Kamara. The pebbles here are smaller — almost like sand — and it’s easier on your feet. The water is clear, the vibe is relaxed, and it’s a favorite spot for locals and returning visitors alike.

Right behind you, just below the mountain, you’ll find a casual beach kantina with great music, a laid-back vibe, cold beers, and iced coffees in plastic cups. No reservations, no rush — just enjoy the moment.

Want a more “set-up” beach day? We love The Hook. It’s a great base for sun and sea, and umbrellas are usually free if you eat at the restaurant above (just ask). Swim, nap, order something cool, and stay as long as you like.

In need of a sweet break? Angelato Santorini serves some of the best ice cream on the island — we love the pistachio and seasonal fruit flavors.

Craving something salty? Il Forno makes great takeaway pizza by the slice. Grab one and stroll the promenade — flip-flops in one hand, pizza in the other. That’s lunch sorted.

🌙 Evening in Kamari: Where to Eat & What to Do

As the sun starts to dip, freshen up for dinner. You’ve got two excellent options:

For something quick and satisfying, grab a gyros or souvlaki from the one and only Kantina Minas. It’s legendary for a reason — and their slogan is: “Pinas Minas.” A cheeky rhyme that loosely means, “Are you hungry? [Then go to] Minas!” It plays off the owner’s name — and always gets a smile.

Prefer to sit down and savor your meal? Try Pinakio, a charming taverna just off the main promenade. It offers a modern take on Greek comfort food, full of flavor, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

And to end your day? Nothing beats the magic of the Open-Air Cinema Kamari. Tucked into a tropical garden, it serves up cocktails, popcorn, and films under the stars. Arrive a bit early to grab a good seat and soak up the atmosphere.

Kamari isn’t just where we live — it’s how we live.Swim a little longer, eat a little better, stay out a little later… and feel like you belong from the very first day.
